Notice about COVID-19:

We’re Here For You

Psychology is an essential service. The response to COVID-19 has forced us all to make big changes in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, but our offices have not closed and we’ve stayed open to referrals for psychological assessment and treatment.

For the safety of clients, our staff, and the whole community, we’re providing a combination of telehealth and in-person services.

Telehealth (video and voice-only): We’re conducting most appointments through telehealth, either through a secure video call or by voice only. For video appointments, we use two user-friendly applications—zoom and doxy.me). Voice only meetings can be by phone or by doxy.me as voice only.

In-Person: When we do conduct psychological services in-person, we meet or exceed public health recommendations for safe delivery of services like ours. For example, we’ve greatly limited the number of people coming to our offices, disinfecting surfaces between meetings as well as part-way through longer meetings, and maintaining appropriate physical distancing.

We expect to be able to offer all parts of psychological and psychoeducational assessment via telehealth soon.

If you have questions about any of our safety practices, please get in touch.

Fees, Payment, and Insurance

In assessing fees for our services, we generally follow the recommendations of the Manitoba Psychological Society (MPS), but fees for certain services are slightly higher.

Psychological Treatment:

Professional fees are for psychological treatment (psychotherapy, family therapy, couple therapy, coaching, etc.) are based on 50-minute-long blocks of time. We assess fees for appointment times longer than 50 minutes, and for telephone calls or other consultations longer than 10 minutes, and for communications by email proportionally at this fee.

Psychological and Pediatric Neuropsychological Evaluation

Professional fees are for psychological and pediatric neuropsychological assessment are also based on 50-minute-long blocks of time. Fees are applicable to all time spent on an evaluation, including time spent:

The total time required for a specific evaluation can only be estimated in advance. The process could be as little as a couple of hours, or much longer, depending upon the type and complexity of issues involved, the number of people we need to interview (teachers, physicians, etc.), the types and amount of testing needed.

A general breakdown of fees follows:

Psychoeducational Assessment:

Multiplying this breakdown by the hourly fee, total fees will range from approximately $1,600 to $3,000. However, total fees for an evaluation are most commonly around $2000.

Pediatric Neuropsychological Evaluation:

A pediatric neuropsychological evaluation will typically take longer than a psychoeducational evaluation, so total fees are usually higher as well. This will be discussed in advance with our office.
